There is a lot of buzz on the net these days that what do really assessors looking at the selection center. The only answer that one gets is the OLQ's. Yes its true that they only look at the OLQ's but what does these OLQ really means for the aspirants and how can one know whether they have it in them or not.... I have been receiving multiple requests to Reveal the reality of OLQ's and tell how to link it with the person or the character. Lets do it today by the means of this article.
OLQ's are nothing but the Officer like Qualities where 15 qualities are identified by the experts that one needs to reveal to show the potential of becoming an officer. In civilian world we say this is the job requirement while here we say them the OLQ's. Anyways the civilian world is easy as far as SSB is concerned things are psychologically judged here so beware no flaws, no hiding of things, no boosting of the facts will actually work here. The success mantra is really very simple for this > "Be Yourself". This can make your dream come true very quickly and you can achieve your starts on your shoulder really quickly.
Now lets understand that what Personality is related to? The following factors have been identified:
- Attitude
- Belief
- Behavior
- Value

We all know that our thought process, thinking ability, value system is all shaped by the way one is brought up in this world. Everything matters and is there in the subconscious/ unconscious part of our minds. That is all what is tested at SSB, so you need not try to fake things as that might be caught but truthfulness is accepted. True facts may include weakness as no one has been declared perfect as of now on this earth, so its better to tell rather than hide things. Also mat SSB the coordination between heart, boy and mind is studied and if proper synchronization is formed in them you are recommended.

Based on these the 15 OLQ's that are identified and the coordination with the various parts is as follows:
- Effective Intelligence - Head
- Reasoning Ability - Head
- Organizational Ability - Head
- Power of Expression - Head
- Ability to Influence Group - Heart
- Social Adaptability - Heart
- Liveliness - Heart
- Cooperation - Heart
- Sense of Responsibility - Heart
- Speed of Decision - Guts
- Initiative - Guts
- Self Confidence - Guts
- Determination - Physical & Mental
- Courage - Physical & Mental
- Stamina - Physical & Mental
These qualities should be reflected in whatever you do at SSB, whether you write things in psychology, whether you speak at the interview or perform in the ground task. Everyone is interested in exploring qualities of you to see the Potential in you for being trainable and become officer who would protect my motherland. Hence your PIQ should also be in synch with you and your responses. Its another important form of yours which should be dealt in seriously . Also Self description round of Psychology tests should be taken very seriously as these are the actual reflection of your knowledge about yourself.
Since research has already proved that everyone has the qualities in them , i think we can infer that everyone can become officer but you need to work in the right direction. You need to identify the degree and rectify as per the desired standards. Now everyone must be thinking how to know about themselves and if OLQ's are there. The preparation of any aspirant should start with Self introspection which involves the study of life events with respect to OLQ's and the outcome of this exercise should be you strengths and weak zones where you actually need to work. Then comes the practice phase where one shou;d practice various rounds conducted at SSB and after this comes the improvement phase of the mistakes identified. But the major time should be spent in introspection of yourself and your personality deeply so that you know your real self. The aspirants who take personal assessment through my mentorship program get it done by the use of certain tests which are designed specially to get the unknown out of you and also one to one interaction to study full life and make a psychometric profile of yours. Once this is ready the matching can be easily done and things become easy. So try this and move towards success which can be yours if you work in the right direction and know yourself to reflect successfully.
