Day 2,3,&4 : Personal Interview

PI can happen over a span of day 2,3 or 4 depending upon the convenience of interviewer and availability of the slots. This is very specific to personality and must be taken seriously.Please remember that Interview are usually taken by the senior most officers of the board and they are usually President or Vice- president of the board. Various aspects that are covered in the interview are:

1) Personality

2) Domain knowledge

3) General Awareness

PIQ that is filled post screening results by the selected candidate forms the basis of interview and plays an important role. Its one of the document that guides the way your interview would be conducted.

Lets see all the categories in detail:

Personality:

Though SSB is all about personality assessment but PI is a place where you will get an opportunity to visit your full life span again. Personality and qualities are judged based on that only and whatever you speak in the interview room. So self introspect before you visit the SSB else interviewer will ensure you have a tough time in the room. Try to be yourself in the PI and answer with utmost truth and describe events whatever is required. Don't give elongated answers else the interviewer might feel lost. Details of what could be the probable questions in this category will be published on the blog. It can come in the form of Rapid fire questions which are usually to test the confidence level or the stress level of the aspirant.

Domain Knowledge:

This round of questions are thrown by the interviewer to asses the technical intellect of the candidate. Defense forces have a wrong perception among the civilians that its only about fighting war and avoiding our enemies to enter our territory but defense forces look for many other works and operations within the territory of our country. They are quite dependent on technical warfare and new machines for securing our motherland. And here only the technical knowledge comes handy. Technical rounds may not compulsorily happen but yes this can anytime be asked and here only , your studies come handy.

General awareness:

It is always expected from the youth of our country to be updated of the happenings around the country and if you are aspiring to be a future officer this responsibility becomes more on you. So get ready to keep yourself updated about the various happenings as this knowledge will become handy in case of I and also at the time of GD or lecturette.
