What is SSB?

SSB stands for Service selection board which is the basic entry exam for the Indian defense force.Its a personality intelligence interview which spreads over the span of five days and tests the candidate potential, ability and compatibility for the Indian defense. Though there are many entries through which one can go into serving the defense forces in India but SSB is the passage that can only allow you to enter it. Its a gateway where recommendation is needed for becoming a commissioned officer .

The defense job is not for money or the facilities that the government provide to these people but it has now become synonym of courage, commitment and honor. Thats why there is no fixed number of attempts that are decided for giving SSB. You can try until your age allows for the same. SSB is a five day process with the following rounds happening :

• Day 1 - Screening process
• Day 2 - Psychology day
• Day 3 &4 - GTO rounds
• Day 2, 3&4 - Personal interview
• Day 5 - Conference

The details of the various rounds can be seen on the blog itself under the various tabs. There is also PABT conducted for only those candidates who have applied for flying branches in Indian air force. Rest all rounds are given by everyone who clears the very first day of SSB which is called screening. Screening is basically for reducing the candidates with major elimination. It is believed that screening is done to take serious candidates and who are able to reveal their potential to the assessors within the limited time. Rest of the testing of OLQ happens in the remaining days.So gear up and start working on personality.

Reality of SSB: Self - Introspection

The best tool to move ahead with preparation is SELF INTROSPECTION which should be the starting point for every aspirant. Its a technique that has been evolved for the aspirants to study their life and get awareness about the qualities they have and also about their weakness. Once this study is done they are already with a wish list which includes the improvement area and maintaining what they have. Let me make it very clear to the aspirants at this point of time that human personality is really very dynamic and needs time for improvement and degradation as well. the personality of the human is shaped from the environment he comes from or he lives in, the type of people he or she is surrounded with or the background he or she belongs.

Its really very essential to control the things that are in one hands as we cannot change our family or say the background we come from. Or for that purpose we cannot even change the way we have been brought up. So its always better to change the present in our hand if we are aware of it. Once such things are controlled we will create a positive aura that will help us maintain good thought process and hence a good psychology. this basic understanding if adapted in ones life can change us completely.
