For several decades, ex-servicemen have been demanding, as a special dispensation to veterans, that no matter when an officer or jawan has retired from service, they should get equal pension. For example, an officer with 25 years of service who retired, say, in 1995 as a Colonel is currently getting pension based on his last salary drawn.
