deployed in sensitive areas where the sport is generally held like Avaniapuram, Palamedu and Alanganallur, locations famous for Jallikattu in Madurai district.

of its holding company on Thursday, looking to soothe investors after a

demonetisation, RBI employees on Friday wrote to Governor Urjit Patel

has been "dented beyond repair" due to mismanagement and termed
appointment of a senior Finance Ministry official as a "blatant

three of its athletes were stripped of their 2008 Olympic gold medals on
Thursday following re-tests of samples from the Beijing Games.

The Sports Ministry on Friday lifted the
suspension of recognition accorded to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA)
after the national sports body revoked its earlier decision to appoint former
chiefs Abhay Singh Chautala and Suresh Kalmadi as honorary life presidents.

The IOA's Annual General Meeting on December 27
last year had reportedly passed a resolution to honour the controversial duo
with the post of honorary life president. The move invited severe criticism
from various quarters with the government issuing show-cause notice before
suspending the deemed recognition of the national Olympic body.
