It has been just more than 2 months
after the death of Amma
“Jayalalitha” , there is a lot of political turmoil in Tamil Nadu.
The debate around jallikattu
gained ground following statewide protests in Tamil Nadu against the Supreme
Court-imposed ban on the bull-taming sport. The agitations forced the Tamil
Nadu government to pass an ordinance lifting the ban and allowing the practice.
The event ended with seven people being killed across the state.

Now at present
scenario Sasikala Natarajan and O
Paneerselvam were not enough that the third candidate is in line Mr. E
Palanisamy for CM candidate. It was not a good valentine for Sasikala at all
this year as The Supreme Court
has sentenced Ms Sasikala to jail for
four years; the verdict also bars her from running for public office for 10
years, pulling the plug on her plans to become Chief Minister. Tamil Nadu was all
set to get a woman chief minister for the third time with Sasikala being
elected as the AIADMK's legislative party leader. But her criminal cases and
infamous “Manarguddi family” let her
down. Also The opposition Bharatiya janata Party Member of Parliament
Subramanian Swamy for the first time referred to Sasikala's family as the
'Mannargudi mafia', and now the name is on the minds and tongues of most in
Tamil Nadu. Let’s look at the cases against her that has changed the history of
Tamil Nadu:
·
The FERA CASE: The latest
order of the Madras high court striking down her discharge in a Foreign
Exchange Regulation Act case now forces Sasikala to face trial. She has been
arrested in 1996 for violating the act.
·
Disproportionate assets: Her alleged
partner in crime, former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa may have
passed on, but the ghost of disproportionate assets case continues to haunt
Sasikala. An appeal by the Karnataka government against their acquittal by the
state's high court is now pending in the Apex court.
·
Sasikala’s
husband
Natarajan was ousted from the Poes Garden residence by Jayalalithaa in 1990,
while Sasikala continued to live there. Now, with Jayalalithaa gone, he is
slowing making his presence felt in the political circles. In February 2012,
Natarajan was arrested for a land-grabbing case. He was accused of grabbing 20
acres of agricultural land in a village in Thanjavur.
·
Sasikala’s brother Divaharan was accused of demolishing the
house of a DMK supporter in Tiruvarur in 2012 and was arrested. He is also an
accused in illegal sand quarrying cases.

On the other hand Paneerselvum came up with which dream that
Amma (Jayalalitha) came into his dream and told him he will be the next CM and
don’t let the chair be a property of family. The dream is becoming truth as of
now. But we don’t know this but he has been the CM of Tamil Nadu in the past
and the most trustable person of Jayalalitha.
·
He was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of
Tamil Nadu in September 2001 when the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was barred
from holding office by the Supreme Court of India. During his stint as Chief
Minister, he was widely criticised for allegedly
heading a puppet government managed
by Jayalalithaa.
·
Second term as Chief Minister, 2014-2015. He was
again entrusted with the responsibility of being Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu
on 29 September 2014 when Jayalalitha was convicted in the disproportionate
assets case.
·
On 6 December 2016, Panneerselvam was elected as
the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu following the death of incumbent Chief
Minister Jayalalithaa. On December 10 he held his first cabinet meeting as a
full-term Chief Minister. He tended his resignation as the Chief Minister of
Tamil Nadu on 6th February, 2017 to the governor, who accepted and appointed
him as the caretaker Chief Minister of the state to avoid a leadership vaccum,
until further measures could be taken.

Now the road is clear for Paneerselvum as Sasikala is going
to jail but she introduced her loyal person E Palanisamy. Now the governor Vidyasagar
Rao must take the responsibility in hand and should end these crisis ones for
all. This will give stability to Tamil Nadu and its people.
