Indian Army UES entry cut-off percentages for various branches

UES entry is the most coveted entry seeks after by the defense aspirants (specially doing a technical course of B.E./B.Tech) because of its multiple advantages that it offers to the person who gets selected through this entry. This entry allows you to apply in the pre final/ final year and provides a golden chance to be the part of Indian defense forces. This entry allows you to enter any of the force of your choice. Navy and Army approves candidates of pre final year through college rounds where the teams of the defense forces visits various selected campuses to select youth and send them directly to the SSB. 

The UES entry has the following format:

Campus round: The teams / representatives of the forces visit the campus and have a GD/PI of the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted candidates are those who have applied for this entry when the notification releases and hence they are shortlisted based on the cut-off as set by the competent authorities. The cut-off varies every time depending upon the applicants and the need in the force. Once the round at the college finishes, the results are announced and the recommended candidates are called for SSB.

Engineering Streams - Cut off %

Civil -- 70%

Mechanical -- 75%

Electrical/Electrical & Electronics -- 71%

Comp Sc /Info Tech -- 72%

Electronics & Telecom -- 70%

Electronics -- 70%

Metallurgical -- 70%

Electronics & Instrumentation -- 72%

Micro Electronics -- 65%

Service Selection Board (SSB): This again has a two stage process namely screening and conference. This is a five day process where every aspirant undergoes OIR and PPDT followed by GD on the first day. Those who get screened in are allowed to stay for further four days and are tested by three assessors namely psychologists, interviewer and the GTO. Each level the aspirant is judged on numerous parameters through various rounds but the most important parameter to judge is the psychology of the aspirant. SSB and the campus rounds both see the officer potential of the candidates. Whether they have in in them to serve the nation or not is seen during this rigorous process. There has been a trend seen in last few years where the cut-off is continuously increasing because now the youth is crazy for defense forces as this opportunity is unmatched with any other profession. This is not a job but a profession where one serves by all means.
