Ten Tips for the success in UES college round

With the New Year beginning for the engineering students and almost half of the term over, now it’s time to start the preparation with full swing for their dream to serve the nation. The best entry gateway for them is the University Entry Scheme which invites young and dynamic people for serving the nation with full rigour. The entry gives the opportunity to young people studying in pre final year or the final year to clear the campus round and move towards SSB directly.

The campus round for UES is of prime importance as this round decides who will go for recommendation for SSB. The entry is unique in the sense that if one clears all the stages they can realise their dream of being an officer immediately after leaving the campus without wasting any time. The campus round is important and easy to clear as well. The campus teams of all the forces visit the different campuses across the country to shortlist candidates.

Prior to that the forms are released on website and aspirants are required to fill them in time. The placement offices of various colleges are kept informed about the process and the visits to happen. The visits to certain campuses have begun and hence I thought of discussing some tips that can help aspirants in preparation in less time. The following can be helpful:

·         There will be a GD and or PI conducted by the various teams visiting the campus hence aspirants should prepare accordingly. Both or any one of the round can be there depending on the applicants and the vacancy.

·         But ideally one should prepare for both as preparation never goes waste. It will definitely help you during SSB. Also once this opportunity is missed then you need to wait till the end to get your Graduation complete and then you become eligible for rest of the entries. So give your best shot.

·         Since here also these people are looking for the officer potential and things are psychologically judged hence preparation should be done keeping this in mind.

·         Official language to be used should be English hence those who know that they are weak in this should work rigorously on this skill because being an officer it’s expected that you should have the ability to communicate things clearly.

·         General awareness and general knowledge should be prepared in advance. Read latest GD and lecturette topics on this blog that we keep on publishing regularly to cover this aspect.

·         For interview one should revise things related to the branch of graduation, things about family, self, friends, and the aspirations for the future.

·         The place that you are applying demands utmost discipline and the set of 15 OLQ’s that should be embedded deeply in your personality. So do self-introspection that can help you to know yourself much better.
