Ten tips for the success in AFCAT Exam

Preparation for AFCAT is essential but what matters is the performance on the D day. One has to be patient to perform well on the examination day and also the end result matters. Even if you are prepared well and the end result is not good it matters. So see to it that AFCAT is prepared well and cleared. AFCAT is the latest opportunity for you to enter your dream job and get the wings for you. In my last article I discussed few steps for AFCAT exam and the success mantra for it. It can be reviewed and would be extending the same here. Now in this article some of the tips would be for the D day because the essential preparation that you had been doing will bear fruits if the time is well spent in this exam. Few more tips that can help are:
SSB

  • Enter the hall and occupy the position beforehand, settle down and feel calm.
  • Do breathing exercise, sitting on the chair calmly; else the other people might get afraid of what has happened to you during the exam.
  • Keep the material like pencil, pen, admit card handy and don’t carry too much with you. No books needed on the day of exam because be assured if you have not read anything when you had sufficient time to prepare then that last moment study will definitely not help.
  • Follow the instructions given in the exam hall as supervisors are very strict there.
  • Never try to cheat, perform your best without thinking of the end result. Remember an officer can never cheat (“An Officer can fail many times but he wins only with right means”~~ Jayendra Pratap Singh), and you are sitting there for securing that position only.
  • When the result is declared the authorities declare a cut-off and all those scoring above it are only called for SSB.
  • Some latest magazines, daily newspaper reading can save you in the general knowledge section. Keep yourself updated through these tools.
  • If you are good at preparing note on tough topics that can be helpful now as it saves time and help in doing revision.
  • Last moment should be utilised to chill out because last minute preparation always confuse you rather than helping you in any way.
  •  Emphasis on core concepts will help and at last the previous year papers can be reviewed for getting the exact idea of what the pattern can be though it’s subject to change.
