SSC Tech Notification released for Indian Army

The wait is over dear aspirants. The most awaited entry notification of Indian Army is out for SSC(T)-49 Men and SSC(T)-20 Women. Applications are invited from married/unmarried MALE and unmarried FEMALE Engineering Graduates and also from Widows of Defence Personnel for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army in all Arms/Services. Course shall be commencing in Oct 2017 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
SSB
SSC tech entries are direct entries that allow shortlisted aspirants to directly appear for SSB with no need for written to be given. The Army HQ sets a pre-defined cut-off for each eligible branch and the aspirants are invited for SSB. There is good news for the aspirants that almost all branches are allowed for this entry this time, so start applying. The detailed notification can be seen on the official website. Few necessary details are presented here.

Age Limit:
(i)                 SSC(T)-49 Men and SSC(T)-20 Women:- 20 to 27 years as on 01 Oct 2017 (Candidates born between 02 Oct 90 and 01 Oct 97) (both dates inclusive).
(ii)               SSCW(Non Tech)(Non UPSC)- For Widows of Defence Personnel only (with four years age relaxation). 19 to 29 years (Candidates born between 02 Jul 88 and 01 Jul 98) (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification:
Candidates who have passed Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of Engineering course are eligible to apply. The candidates studying in the final year examination of Degree Course should be able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at OTA.


Important NOTE:
1)      Online application will open on 23 jan 2017 at 1000 hrs and will be closed on 22 feb 2017 at 1000 hrs
2)      Total 175 vacancies for men and 20 for women. So a great chance for all to make into the merit.
3)      Remember to take Printout while submitting the form from the generated PDF as that might be required in SSB.
4)      The SSB and centre allocation might start in March/April so start preparing immediately as it needs time to work on psych and personality and SSB is all about the same.

Grant of Commission:
Selected candidates of SSC(T) Men & Women will be granted Short Service Commission on probation in the rank of Lt from the date of commencement of the course or the date of reporting at OTA, whichever is later and will be entitled to full pay and allowances admissible to Lt during training period. Short Service Commission on probation will be effective in normal course upto the date of completion of pre-commission training. Pay & allowances will be paid after successful completion of training. Short Service Commission to Officers (Male and Female ) in the regular Army will be granted for 14 years i. e. for an initial period of 10 years extendable by a further period of 04 years. Male officers who are willing to continue to serve in the Army after the expiry of period of ten years in Short Service Commission may, if eligible and suitable in all respects, be considered for the grant of permanent commission in the 10th years of their Short Service Commission in accordance with the relevant rules.

Cost to Company (CTC):
The CTC for a Lieutenant would be approximately Rs. 70000/- per month. This includes Basic Pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, Tech Pay, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance. These rates are not statutory and are subject to change. Other top ups to this are other privileges, leave entitlements and on top of that the uniform which no other job can offer.

How to Apply:
Applications will only be accepted online on website “www.joinindianarmy.nic.in”. Click on ‘Officers Entry Apply/Login’ and then click ‘Registration’. Fill the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully. After getting registered, click on ‘Apply Online’. A page ‘Officers Selection – Eligibility’ will open. Then click ‘Apply’ shown against Technical Graduate Course. A page ‘Application Form’ will open. Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill details as required under various segments. Personal information, Communication details, Education details and details of previous SSB. ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment. After filling details on the last segment, you will move to a page ‘Summary of your information’ wherein you can check and edit the entries already made. Then click on ‘Submit now’ only after carefully ascertaining that the correct details have been filled in. After submitting, click on “PDF” and take two copies of the application form having Roll No and other details generated by the system. The details once filled and submitted cannot be changed, so fill them carefully.
